Personal Projects
A collection of the various worlds, ideas and stories I have conceptualized over the years. Some ideas are more developed than others, though they’re all projects I hope to fully explore at some point.
Point Zero
“Between opposing worlds of night and day was a strange realm known as Point Zero… And when the old worlds faded away, the new world remained below.
A new story is about to unfold.”My main project. Set in the modern-age fantasy world of Eternam, Point Zero is an anthology of creative pieces with a heavy emphasis on detailed worldbuilding and lore. My current goal is to create a visual novel for the first of these stories to slowly introduce people to the world, its inner workings and the many characters that populate it. Upon finishing and releasing said visual novel I intend to expand the project further in order to tell more stories, introduce more characters, and slowly reveal more information that piece together the giant puzzle of the world of Eternam and its many mysteries.
AEGIS
“The Elder Dragons bestowed their gifts upon mankind. Yet time and time again, these gifts are wasted away by the ravages of war…”
A story and world heavily inspired by those seen in the Fire Emblem series of games, AEGIS is centered around a small army travelling a wartorn continent to bring peace to the land. Dynamics and interactions among a large central cast is the main concept I want to tackle with this project. Though I also want to take on the challenge of creating a main storyline and world that are more straightforward and easy to digest, but still create a compelling and engaging experience. Given its inspiration, I hope to see this project fully realized as a tactical RPG some day.
Courier Story!
“The only thing that stands between an arrogant prince and his complete conquest of paradise is a delivery boy and his magic scarf!”
A more laid-back idea of mine. Courier Story and it’s general vibe takes heavy inspiration from mascot platformers of the late 90s and early 2000s such as Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, and the first Jak and Daxter. It’s a sort of comfort project of mine that backs away from the more intricate stories and worlds I normally enjoy creating. Something that focuses more on light-hearted humor and a nostalgic charm. A 3D platformer in this setting would be a dream project for me.
Crystal Knight Saga
“The fabled Gemiknights have all but vanished from this world. It’s up to four kids to carry on their legacy.”
Crystal Knight Saga is perhaps one of the first stories and worlds I imagined in vivid detail when I was a kid; one that over the years would slowly transform into my Point Zero project. That being said, what Point Zero started as and what it is now couldn’t be more different, and it was early in my college years that I decided to revisit the original ideas I had as a kid, and give it some fine tuning and polish. Crystal Knight was heavily inspired by formative games of my childhood such as Super Paper Mario and Klonoa; games with very emotional stories that still resonate with me to this day. Naturally, I aim to make the story an emotional one with a more episodic structure, and a world that evokes a more nostalgic and mystical feeling. Personally I envision this story and setting working best as a classic turn-based RPG.
Astral Call Saga
“After escaping thier wrongful imprisonment, a young royal guard quickly discovers much darker things at play surrounding the world they thought they knew.”
Like Point Zero, Astral Call Saga is set in a modern-day fantasy setting. My main goal for this project is to create a darker, more mysterious storyline. By a twist of fate, the main protagonist inadvertently joins an underground organization and being tangled in the affairs of a conspiracy of existential proportions. Their main way of coping with such the situation? Interacting and bonding with other people who are stuck in the same situation. I want to counter the dark and forboding atmosphere with brief moments of relief as the MC develops their relationships with those around them and try to cope with each other’s hardships in the face of looming dread. I don’t know what type of game Astral Call would work best as just yet (possibly an Action-RPG of some kind), but I would certainly like a social-sim experience to be a core part of it.
Wild Sky Saga
“In a world above the clouds, conquered by animals, an Avian treasure hunter uncovers a most shocking sight: a human girl.”
Wild Sky Saga was thought up based on a simple premise: a lone human living amongst a society of anthropomorphic animals. From an artistic standpoint, I want to use this project as an opportunity to improve and hone my skills of drawing different animals, with each species emulating a different kind of human-like culture. From a narrative standpoint I aim to create a story about an amnesiac human, exploring and discovering a diverse and free world around her, making friends along the way while also trying to discover her origins and who (or what) she really is. I also really want to try to incorporate a very shocking twist at the end. A revelation that turns the whole story on it’s head and creates a very jarring tonal shift. I certainly have ideas, but for obvious reasons I don’t want to say what they are. I certainly think Wild Sky would work best as an adventure game, but of what kind, I don’t know just yet.
